Short story competition

	Dan I’m 12 years old. I have four brothers. We share a lot of things, including bedrooms and clothes, so we often get angry with each other. We always help with the family meal, but last week we had a big problem. We each wanted something different. Finally, my father said, ‘Make the dinner yourselves. Your mother and I are going for a walk.’ The story is about all the mistakes we made. We learnt an important lesson.
	Tom I’m 11. I live with my mother in a small flat near the school. I wrote about the problems my mother has in understanding a boy of my age. She always gets me strange things for my birthday. I love lions and tigers and camels, and stories about jungles and deserts, but she bought me a train set last year and a book about aliens. My story is about a birthday party which she planned for me and the funny things which happened there.
	Hugo I’m 13 and I live with my parents in a house which is a long way from the school. I have to travel on the school bus every day with my schoolfriend. Many funny things have happened to us on the journey, so I wrote about one thing. I had a lot of things to choose from, but in the end I wrote about something which started in a frightening way but ended quite happily.
